About Rich Green Works
Rich Green Works is an independent creative and educational imprint devoted to the careful study of the natural world.
It exists to support a way of learning that is practical, attentive, and grounded — one that values clarity, beauty, and direct experience over speed or volume.
An Evolving Body of Work
Learning as a living process, not a finished product
Rich Green Works is not built around a single book or product, but around an ongoing process of observation, study, and refinement.
New material is developed gradually and released as it becomes ready — including books, printable field guides and PDFs, original illustrations, and, in time, courses. Some materials are offered freely, others are published as finished works, all held to the same standard of care and usefulness.
How the Work Is Approached
Attention, usefulness, and form
The work published through Rich Green Works begins with direct observation — of landscape, weather, movement, and pattern — and develops through practical engagement rather than abstract theory.
Ideas are tested in use, clarified through teaching and field experience, and shaped into forms that are meant to be returned to over time. The aim is not to impress, but to be clear; not to accumulate information, but to cultivate understanding.
Form Matters
On quality, design, and material care
Each book, learning material, and artwork is carefully designed and thoughtfully produced. Attention is given not only to content, but to layout, pacing, illustration, and overall coherence.
These are materials intended to be lived with — printed, carried, marked, revisited — rather than quickly consumed or forgotten.
Publications and Materials
Current and forthcoming work includes:
– Books exploring nature-based observation, navigation, and attentiveness
– Printable field guides and learning PDFs
– Original illustrations and visual studies
– Courses and extended learning formats (in development)
All materials are connected by a shared approach: practical clarity, careful form, and respect for the intelligence of the reader.
